Happy November everyone and welcome to this week’s Weekly Love post. I won’t lie, this week hasn’t been great; I’ve struggled a bit with my mental health, and the darker evenings have taken a toll on me and will take a bit of getting used to, but it’s a new week this week and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in.
Here is everything I was loving last week.
On Monday, I spent some time with my family as I had the day off. I went to my cousin’s house and spent some time with my Nan looking at photo albums from her wedding day and it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. I really loved seeing photos of her and my Granddad and learning about what happened on their day.
As I mentioned, I’ve not been feeling my best the past few days but this week I’ve been cheered up by a couple of my friends popping over for lunch, which has really put a smile on my face.
On Wednesday evening, my parents, Jordan and me all went for a meal at a restaurant called Sugo in Altrincham. It’s been opened for a couple of years, but this is the first time that I’d been and it was incredible. They do a few select pasta dishes, and I went for the mackerel and butternut squash which was delicious. I’ll definitely be back!
Jordan and I were very kindly invited to Albert’s in Didsbury to sample their new Winter Menu. We were there with some local food journalists and were treated to a 10-course tasting menu which included a seafood platter, mini cheese and onion and dessert sharer. The food was some of the best I’ve had all year – I can’t wait to try more things on their menu this season.
My lovely friend Hannah and I went to Cocktails in The City on Friday night which is an annual event in Manchester where you sample cocktails from some of the best bars in Manchester. We went for a Vimto based one, a fancy Gin & Tonic and a sweet elderflower and rose.
I spent Saturday with some of my favourite blogging friends at the Manchester Girl Tribe Gang event. We attended some great talks, but I had the best time just spending time with the girls, chatting all day and making memories. I’m really lucky to have such a great support network in my city.
On Sunday, we had our latest instalment of Alphabet Come Dine With Me at my friend Sarah’s house. We were on U for the United Kingdom and she made us afternoon tea. It was so intricate and she made the stands from scratch! So inventive and the food was fabulous.
This week I’ve been spoilt by some lovely deliveries from Heck and Lancashire Farm Dairies. The Heck sausages I was sent were their new plant-based range, and so far we’ve tried two packs which have been so tasty. The yoghurts I got from Lancashire Farm came with some delicious toppings too, which I’ve already eaten a fair few of.
What have you been loving this week?
