I feel like this has been one of the busiest weeks of the past few months, so much so that I had to go back through my photos to make sure I hadn’t missed anything.
That’s what I love about December though; there is always something to do, people to see and fun to be had.
1. Seeing Old Friends
On Monday evening, I met a couple of friends at a bar in Hale to have a catch up with one of them who has back from travelling around Canada. Although I had a pretty horrendous journey getting there (think black ice, freezing temperatures and mental traffic jams) it was really lovely to catch up with them all and hear all about what he’s been up to since the last time I saw him.
2. Hosting Friends
Tuesday evening saw Jordan and I hosting a mini dinner party for our friends Emily and Lewis as a little pre-Christmas gathering. We had the trusty mustard chicken with leeks, which we’d tried a couple of weeks before and tiramisu for pudding. I really loved having people around and it’s something I want to do much more of in the New Year.
3. Blogger Dining Club
This Wednesday was the second instalment of the Blogger Dining Club, hosted by my dear friend Georgie Glass. This week we went to Don Giovanni to sample their winter menu, and it was a delight. I’d been to the restaurant when I was 17 (which made me feel so old when I realised it was 10 whole years ago) but it had changed since the last time I was there and was stunning inside. Full review coming soon.
4. Birthday Part 1
I went to Piccolino on Friday evening for Jacinta’s birthday meal with a few of her friends, and one girl who I went to primary school with. The food was delicious and the company even better. A lovely way to start the weekend.
On Saturday morning, I met my lovely friends Lily and Erin at Ezra and Gil in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. It was packed but we managed to get a table within about 10 minutes. The food was lovely and it was such a lovely morning catching up with two of my favourite girls. We went to the market afterwards for a bit of dessert and had a mosey about Manchester.
6. Mackie Mayor
After seeing the girls on Saturday, I stayed in Manchester and met up with Jacinta and two of our other friends to celebrate her birthday, and say goodbye to one of the guys, who was going back up to Inverness that night. We started off by having a couple of drinks in Mackie Mayor, before heading to Cane and Grain and ending up in Terrace.
7. The Drop
As I wasn’t feeling my best on Sunday, one of the only things that was getting me through was seeing all my friends in the evening at The Drop in Altrincham for one of their birthdays. I love Caribbean food, and this did not disappoint.
8. Finishing Work
This Friday, I finished work for Christmas, and I could not be happier. Putting my out of office on made me feel so happy and ready for Christmas and I can’t wait to spend time with Jordan and all my family and friends in the next couple of weeks.
What was everyone else loving last week?
