Weekly Love #100

December 31, 2018

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! How fast has 2018 actually gone? It’s crazy!

If you read my plans for 2019 post, you will be aware that I’m going to start focusing on other things, rather than do these Weekly Love posts for the foreseeable future. It’s a decision that took a lot of time to come to, but I feel as though the time I spend putting them together could be better used elsewhere. I’m not saying I’ll never do another one, and I’m more excited for what’s to come in 2019, so I hope you’ll stick around.

It’s been almost two years writing these posts, and I’ve loved publishing every single one, and I’m also so grateful that I have an online diary to look back on. I haven’t got a plan set in stone for 2019, but I might start doing more monthly round ups and favourites which I’ve dabbled with here and there on the blog, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for those.

But now, here is what I’ve been loving over the festive period!

Our Heroes Awards

A couple of weeks ago I went to an awards ceremony for work for people who had made a difference to Cancer Research UK. The stories were incredible, and some really hit home, but the whole evening was amazing, and I’m so glad I was able to attend.

Just before Christmas I spent the day at my uncle and auntie’s in Cheshire watching Christmas films with my cousins and my Nan and getting in the festive spirit. It’s really lovely to spend time with the kids who still believe in Father Christmas!

Bongo Bingo

What scream Christmas more than a festive trip to Bongo Bingo? I went with some of the girls I used to work with and we had the best night. It’s such a crazy night out but it’s definitely one of my favourites and I can’t wait to go again next year!

Christmas Eve Walk

I went for a lovely Christmas Eve walk around Lymm Dam with my gorgeous friend Missy and her gorgeous dog, Romeo, who is my new best friend. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we had such a great time putting the world to rights.

Spending Time With Family

Later on on Christmas Eve, we headed to my cousins for some food and drink and saw some more of my family. I got to give the kids their presents and we had a great time seeing family friends who we haven’t caught up with for a while.

Christmas Day

I can’t write my last Weekly Love post and not mention Christmas Day! Jordan and I spent the morning at his parent’s house and then went over to mine with my Nan, uncle and cousin. We had amazing food (thanks Mum!) and such a lovely day – definitely one of my favourite times of the year.

Celebrating 5 Years

Just after Christmas, Jordan and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary, which felt like a big one as it’s the last one before we’re a married couple. We were both working in the day but went for a lunchtime walk, and out for dinner at night, and it was lovely and chilled.

My old friend, Matty, got married to his lovely boyfriend Adrian last week and we celebrated at the amazing venue, Shrigley Hall. It was so nice to catch up with a few people who I hadn’t seen in a while and see how happy they both were. I love weddings!

When you’re reading this, I’ll be in Prague where me and Jordan came on Saturday for a getaway before 2019. It’s been such a nice break and the Christmas markets are still in full swing meaning that we’re clinging on to the last bits of the festive period before 2019 starts. Full itinerary coming soon!

The End Of An Era

And what an amazing (almost) two years it’s been writing these posts. I started it as a bit of a whim, but now I’m so happy I did as I always have these to look back on. Thank you to every one of you who has supported me over the last couple of years, and more, and here’s to 2019, and all the craziness to come with it.

Happy New Year!
