Oh hi, hello, it’s me, I’m back! It’s been a few weeks since I posted a Weekly Love on here, and my main reason for this was being ill the past couple of weeks, but I’m feeling much more myself and normal service has resumed.
I also can’t believe we’re less than 1 month until Christmas now, but after a lovely weekend, I am starting to get in the festive spirit.
Here is everything I’ve been loving over the past couple of weeks – call it a bumper edition if you will!
You may have seen if you follow me on Twitter you may have seen that the lovely folk at Leesa gifted me a pillow to go with my mattress (full review post on that here). I’ve been loving the mattress since July so I jumped at the chance of being able to get a pillow to go with it. I’ve only had it a couple of weeks, but I’m loving it so far.
This past weekend I spent in Nuremberg with my lovely friend Noemie who I’ve known since school. We drank a lot of mulled wine, did walking tours and ate amazing food and it was just what I needed after being in a bit of a slump the couple of weeks before. We stayed in Melter Apartments and I’ll be rounding up all my recommendations for you all.
When I started to feel a bit better, I made it my mission to get out of the house and get my body moving again before I was strong enough to go back to the gym (which I’m dreading so much!) We’ve had some beautiful sunny days in the past week, and my new favourite thing is to listen to a podcast and get lost in my own thoughts on my lunch hour.
Last week was my auntie’s 60th birthday so we went for a pub dinner near to where she lives. She’s just moved back from America so it was lovely to get all the family together before Christmas and catch up with everyone – it made me really excited for festivities to come too.
As it was Black Friday last week, I decided to treat myself to a couple of bits that I’d had my eye for a while. I got a new coat from I Saw It First which I’d never used before, but I love it, and also my first Glossier order which I can’t wait to arrive!
My friend Africa’sboyfriend came to visit a couple of weeks ago and we all met in the city centre for a roast dinner and a visit to the Christmas markets. We went to Lily’s 1761 Bar in Manchester and the food was delicious – definitely, somewhere I would recommend going if you’re in the city centre.
Last week I started Lily Allen’s book and I was hooked. Her story is so raw and compelling and she tells it exactly how it is. I didn’t think I would like it, but I read it within about 4 days and would definitely suggest you all immediately buy it because it was just amazing!
My parents live in a little town not far from me and Jordan and we decided to go and watch the Christmas light switch on there. There was a market with a choir and it was so lovely to walk there along the Bollin river too and made me want to get out and do more walks over winter.
We finally found our wedding florist!! After a tough couple of months of going backwards and forwards with quotes, we have finally found our wedding florist. My parents have worked with her before and she knew exactly everything that we wanted. I’m really happy too that it is something else ticked off the list!
I know I’ve mentioned it a lot, but being ill and off work really knocked me for six and if I’m honest, it got me really down not being able to go about my life as usual. I’m not 100% there but I feel a lot better than I did and it’s really made me value my health. I’ve also loved coming back to the blog as I’ve been neglecting it for a bit, but I’ve also been scurrying away in the background getting ready for some exciting things to come in 2019 – watch this space!
What have you been loving this week?
