Weekly Love #44

November 6, 2017

You’ll have to bear with me for the time being, as I’ve just transferred my blog over to WordPress (via Pipdig, highly recommend) and I’m just getting used to it – but I wanted to get this post out on a Monday.

I hope everyone had a lovely start to November, and you’re all starting to get excited about Christmas – I know I am. I had quite a jam-packed week, but a fun one nonetheless.

Here are all the things I was loving last week.

1. Liam Gallagher Tickets

This week started on a high because I found out that one of my closest friends had managed to get us Liam Gallagher tickets for his Finsbury Park show next year. I’ve never seen him live so I’m really looking forward to it, and Finsbury Park is one of my favourite places to go for a concert after seeing Arctic Monkeys there back in 2014.

2. Reunited With Liz Earle

On Tuesday, it was payday for me after the longest month known to man. I’d been putting off buying new skincare, as I knew as soon as I started paying for things on my credit card, I would get carried away. I repurchased my trusty Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish which is something I’ve been using since May and I felt lost without it.

3. Halloween Bake Off

To celebrate Halloween at work, they organised a bake off, which was judged by a professional chef, and the theme was to make it look as gruesome as possible. I didn’t take part in the baking side of things, but definitely the eating – I always enjoy a Tuesday afternoon with a side of cake.

4. Alex Ward Exhibition

I felt very cultural going to a photographer’s exhibition on Thursday evening in the city, and it was such a fun evening looking at Alex’s previous work as he’s such a talented guy. I’d spoken to him a few times before actually meeting him so it was nice to put a face to the name. I also got to catch up with Hannah as well which was an added bonus.

5. Gin Festival

For Jordan’s birthday back in August, I bought him tickets to the gin festival at Victoria Baths, so we’ve been looking forward to it for a while. I went to the same one back in March, so I made it my mission to try some of the gins that I’d never tasted before. Victoria Baths is such a cool venue, and we had an awesome night getting tipsy and enjoying the atmosphere.

6. Countdown To Christmas

I don’t know if its just me, but this last week has made me feel so Christmassy. I think the clocks going back has added to the overall Winter feel, but it definitely felt colder this week. I may have even had a cheeky listen to my Christmas playlist on Spotify to get me in the mood for the festive period.

7. Manfrotto Photography Masterclass

On Saturday, I was lucky enough to be invited to the Manfrotto photography masterclass at Great John Street Hotel in Manchester. The day was a mixture of networking with other bloggers but also learning about the products and how you can use them for different types of photography. My good friend Lily was also at the event which was a nice surprise.

8. Come Dine With Me

You might have heard me talk about the ‘Alphabet Come Dine With Me’ that I’m a part of with a group of close friends, well this weekend it was my turn. My letter was Q, and as Qatar is the only country that begins with that letter, I incorporated other places. For a starter I did Brazillian cheese breads from Queimados, for the main I did a chicken stew from Qatar and the dessert was a sugar pie from Quebec. It was lovely to host at my house as most of them hadn’t seen the house.

9. Knutsford Makers Market

On Sunday, Jordan and I ventured over to the makers market in Knutsford, as it had been a while since we had been to that one. I had a bit of an ulterior motive to go as well, which I can’t mention on here just yet. The market was heaving because it was such a lovely sunny day, but that didn’t stop us from trying all the food avaialble.

10. Bonfire Night

We’re really lucky that where we live there is a park opposite, so we didn’t have to go far to watch any fireworks this year. It was a busy occasion, but I love bonfire night as it makes me feel as though Christmas is just around the corner – I even bought a toffee apple to get in the mood!
