I flew up to Edinburgh on Monday for a couple of days as I was working up there, and it made me remember how much I absolutely love the city. I wasn’t there for too long and didn’t have too much free time, but being back up there has made me want to visit even more this summer with Jordan.

Whilst I was in Edinburgh, I met up with one of my best friends, Lauren, who lives in the city, with my friend, Alex, who I was working up there with. We chose to go to Dishoom as they had both been before and said how amazing it was, and they were right! We shared the chilli cheese toast, and I went for the paneer curry, and the food was incredible. I really hope they come to Manchester one day!

You might have heard me talk recently on Social Media that I’ve found a new love of working out at home, and this week I tried my first Pilates class, and I loved it. I’m really enjoying trying exercises I usually never would, and I’m looking forward to sampling more.

It’s Always The Husband

Book reviews are something I’ve been thinking about doing on here for a little while, but it’s taken me a few weeks to get into the swing of reading before bed almost every night. I’ve just finished reading ‘It’s always the husband‘ by Michele Campbell, and I couldn’t put it down. If you’re looking for something gripping, give this a go.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream

I’ve been really lucky to be a Kiehl’s representative for the past 7 months, and even luckier that they regularly send me products to try. This week I’ve really been loving their ultra facial cream, which I use as a moisturiser, and it’s been helping my dry skin during this cold spell we’ve been going through.

Salted Caramel Green Tea

I’m a big tea drinker, and although I would usually choose peppermint over a normal green tea, I tried the Twinings salted caramel flavour this week, and it was lovely. I think it will be a good thing to have when I’m craving something sweet in the afternoons.

I’ve got a couple of posts in the pipeline about my weekend in Bath, but I couldn’t write my Weekly Love post without mentioning it because we had such a good time. The city was absolutely stunning, and it was lovely to spend some quality time with the other half after a few hectic weeks.

Coming Home

As much as I love travelling, there really is nothing better than coming home (mainly to see the cats). We arrived back home early Sunday evening, and it felt good to have a couple of hours of downtime before starting to think about the work week ahead. UK travel is definitely something I want to do more of this year, especially because you can do it within one weekend.

What have you been loving this week?

Happy February everyone!

I hope you’ve had a wonderful start to the month – I already feel as though this one is going to fly by, but I can’t complain as the lighter mornings are making it feel as though spring is just around the corner!

1. Vegan Menu At Tampopo

I’ve worked with Tampopo a couple of times in the past, and I was very lucky to be invited to their Vegan Tasting Menu on Wednesday. I invited my friend Charlotte as I hadn’t seen her since before Christmas and it was the last day of her doing Veganuary. The food was amazing, and the flavours were all balanced so well.

2. Work Night Out

On Friday afternoon, my team had a meeting in Manchester, and we had a work night out afterwards. We started off at The Laundrette for food and drinks (the butternut squash pizza was amazing) before heading to Gasworks and then on to beer pong at Bunny Jacksons. I had such a fun night and woke up hangover free – bonus!

3. The White Closet

If you’re from the Manchester area (in particular, Didsbury) you probably will have heard of The White Closet on Burton Road. I made an appointment back in January as this was the first one I could get, and I’m so glad I waited for it. I went with my Mum and we had the loveliest experience. The woman who was showing us the dresses was so knowledgeable and showed us different ways to dress them up. I would highly recommend booking an appointment if you’re from around here.

4. Surprise Birthday Party

After the dress appointment, I whizzed over to my friend Abi’s house for her surprise birthday party with a group of friends. We all brought food and drink and she had no idea. It was such a lovely afternoon spending time with everyone.

5. Come Dine With Me

As you may know, if you read my blog a lot, a group of friends and I do a ‘Come Dine With Me’ where we go through the letters of the alphabet and chose a country beginning with that letter. This time it was R for Russia, and the food was very different to anything we’d had before, but tasty all the same. It was great to catch up with everyone as well as I hadn’t seen them since we got engaged so they had lots of questions!

6. Tatton Wedding Show

On Sunday afternoon, I went to the Bride: The Wedding Show at Tatton Park. It was one of the best shows I’ve been to so far. The catwalk show was incredible and I came away with lots of inspiration and suppliers I want to get in touch with.

7. Proove Pizza

After working up an appetite walking around the show, Jordan and I treated ourselves to a pizza at one of our favourite places, Proove in West Didsbury. Going out for dinner on a Sunday evening is one of my favourite things to do as it always makes the weekend feel a little bit longer (and pizza is my fave!)

8. Arrested Development

This last fortnight I’ve been in London a couple of times for work, and each time I’ve gotten back into watching Arrested Development on the train. It used to be one of my favourite shows a few years ago and I forgot how much I enjoyed it.

What have you been loving this week?

Happy Monday everyone – I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend.

I, unfortunately, spent my day yesterday in bed with a migraine, which was my body’s way of telling me to take it easy for the next few days. But there will still things last week that made me smile.

1. Overnight Oats

On Monday evening, I made a big batch of overnight oats with almond milk, yoghurt and blueberries. I had them for breakfast all through the week and I really enjoyed them. I’m looking for other recipes now, so if you have any, please send them my way!

2. Wedding Magazines

I’ve had a couple of wedding magazines lying around the house since we got engaged, but this week I spent some time reading them and writing down a few ideas I found. I really enjoyed seeing other people’s big day and it gave me a lot of inspiration for the kind of things we’d like.

3. Salon Success

I meant to mention this in last week’s post, but it completely slipped my mind. I was very lucky to be sent the new marble straighteners from Paul Mitchell and I can’t wait to give them a go. Total blogger goals!

4. Mini Eggs

This week, Mini Eggs have been a firm staple in my diet, and I couldn’t be happier that they’re back. They are one of my favourite chocolates and the smell just transports me back to being a child.

5. Dinner At The Botanist

On Friday evening, Jordan and I were very kindly offered dinner at The Botanist in Alderley Edge. As it’s my local to work, I spend a lot of my time in there, but I’ve never had dinner there. I’m going to be doing a full blog post on everything we chose, but the food was incredible.

6. Wedding Venue

We’re 99% set on our wedding venue, which is really exciting, and on Saturday morning, Jordan and I went there to see it again with my Mum and my Nan who hadn’t had a chance to visit it yet. They both loved it, which sealed the deal for us. I hope that we can get it booked this week.

7. Pub Lunch

After seeing the venue on Saturday, my Mum, Nan and I went for a pub lunch at a gorgeous place called The Ship in Styal. It was so cosy and cute inside and the food was great. We also went to a wedding dress shop afterwards but it was a bit too busy to try things on.

8. London

When I went down to London for work on Thursday, I got a chance to see my friend, Louise, for a quick coffee whilst she was on her lunch just before I jumped on my train home – it makes going down to London even more fun when I get to tie in seeing one of my oldest friends.

9. YouTube Fitness

It’s not often I talk about fitness on my blog, but this week I’ve really been getting into working out from home and using The Fitness Blender‘s YouTube channel. I’m enjoying doing something a bit different than just going to the gym and there’s so much variety to chose from.

Laptop with notebook and glasses

Happy Monday again everyone! I can’t get over how fast 2018 is already going, but I’m also excited to get stuck into the rest of the year and all the fun things I’ve got planned.

This week has had many ups and downs in my work life, but as always, there have also been things that have made me smile along the way.

1. Catching Up With My Parents

My parents are lucky enough to have booked a January holiday, so this week I made sure I saw them before they went away. We hadn’t caught up much about the wedding, so it was nice to talk to them about the progress we’ve made and get their opinion on some of the decisions we have coming up.

2. Ski Trip

Our company do an annual ski trip every year, and this year they announced it on Friday as being the last ever one. We’ll be heading to Val Thorens in France in March, and I’m so excited because I’ve never been skiing before and the pictures look amazing.

3. Brunch

On Saturday morning, I met some of my favourite blogging girls for Brunch at Evelyn’s in Manchester. I’ve wanted to try their brunch for ages as I’ve heard amazing things and this was the best opportunity to catch up with everyone after Christmas. We were also saying goodbye to the beautiful Faye who is off on her travels next week.

4. Saturday Evening In

Our lovely friend Emily and her husband invited us round for dinner on Saturday evening as we’re all trying to be good with money. As I’m still being veggie, they made a chickpea and lentil curry with homemade onion bhajis. It was all delicious and gave me some inspiration to branch out with new ingredients. They also had all their wedding photos printed off so it was lovely to go through them and relive the day.

5. Sausage Dog Cuddles

I had some parcels to drop round to a friend from work on Friday evening. I was more than happy to do so because it meant I got to see her sausage dog, Bruce, who I haven’t seen for a couple of months. It definitely perked me up after an incredibly busy week and he was so adorable.

6. Exciting Opportunities

This week I’ve had some exciting opportunities come through my inbox, which I’ll be a very happy bunny if they all go ahead as planned. One of the best things about having this blog is the amazing brands that I get to work with that I will always be grateful for.

7. Sunday Well Spent

This Sunday we had no plans which is unexpected for us, so we took the chance to go on a country drive down all of the back lanes, get organised for the week ahead and cook a veggie toad in the hole from scratch. A very relaxing end to the week.

8. Working From Home

A couple of days this week I’ve been working from home, which has meant that I’ve finally got to use our home office which we’ve been slowly renovating for the past few months. I always find that I get so much done when I’m there and it was nice to be in my own little space that I’ve been putting together.

What have you been loving this week?

Happy Monday you lovely lot! We officially survived the first full week of work which definitely seems like quite an achievement and we even had some sunshine along the way to enjoy!

Here are all the things I was loving over the past week.

1. Meeting An Old Friend

On Monday evening, I went to Chorlton to meet my good friend Holly, founder of We Blog North for a bit of a catch-up. She’s due to have a baby in May, and I hadn’t seen her since I’d been engaged so we had a lot to talk about. I also got to have a look around her newly renovated house too, which was absolutely beautiful.

2. Lunchtime Walks

During our lunch breaks this week, me and a couple of girls went for a walk into Alderley Edge village to break up the day a little bit. We’re lucky that our office is in such a beautiful part of Cheshire, and we get to look at some pretty gorgeous houses on the route we took.

3. Shopping

On Wednesday evening, I went to the Trafford Centre to take some sale purchases back that I impulse bought after Christmas (bad idea!) I ended up having a little shop around and buying myself a spontaneous beret, which I’d wanted for a while and although I’m not sure whether I can pull it off, I’m going to go with it.

4. Girls Night

By the time it got to Friday evening, all I wanted to do was have some chill time with two of my favourite girls – I had my good friends Jacinta and Georgie round for dinner and a girl’s night. We had veggie burgers and sweet potato fries and had a lovely time putting the world to rights.

5. Leeds

I was invited to attend the Ice Lolly ‘Blog at the Beach’ event at Duke Studios in Leeds. I went with my good old blogging buddy, Lily, and we met some lovely people there, including finally being introduced to Queen Beady. The event was incredibly useful and it was lovely to be back over that side of the Pennines again.

4. Chilled Saturday

After getting back from the event on Saturday, Jordan and I had a well-earned night in doing absolutely nothing. We cooked vegetarian pies with some greens, and watched ‘Take Me Out’ whilst cuddling the cats. Definitely a great way to end a busy day.

5. First Newsletter

My first newsletter went out yesterday (you can sign up here for the next one) and the feedback I’ve had so far has been lovely. It featured blogs from some of my favourite people such as Sophie Cliff, Rhianna Olivia, Chloe Plumpstead and Sophie Rosie as I love sharing the work of other content creators.

6. Venues

On Sunday morning, Jordan and I went to the two venues which we have whittled it down to. It was nice to see them without it being an open day and being able to ask the owners all our questions, which there are a lot of. I’ll be posting my first wedding update at the end of the month, so make sure you keep an eye out for that one!

7. Wedding Fair

After seeing the venues, we went to the County Brides wedding fair at the Etihad Stadium (boo!!) to get some idea on the price of other things, and have a look at the exhibitors. I’ve only ever been to one wedding fair before, but I definitely want to go to more the closer we get to the wedding.

8. Tampopo

We worked up quite an appetite after all of the wedding planning during the day and I was lucky enough to be invited to try the new ramen dishes at Tampopo so we headed to the Trafford Centre to try them. I went for the Shoyu vegetarian option, and Jordan had the Tonkotsu, and they were both delicious. I love Tampopo as they always use the tastiest ingredients and the service is always so good.
