Fashion | The 5 Best NYE dresses

I'll admit, New Year's Eve isn't my favourite night of the year. I don't really get the hype, I don't like spending three times as much to get from a club I was over-charged to get into in the first place, and I much prefer a good old fashioned house party.

BUT, what I do like about NYE is the sparkly dresses, glittery heels and embellishments that make it a great time to invest in a new dress (although, who really needs an excuse?) In today's post, I've included my 5 favourites.

I love a bit of texture when it comes to NYE, and this velvet number is a great place to start. I love the berry colour of this, as it still seems a bit festive, even though Christmas will be over, and the skater style really flatters every figure.

If you want to get mistaken for a disco ball this New Year, then this dress is definitely for you. I can't say I've always been a fan of sequins in the past, as they tend to cut my underarms, but because this is long sleeves, I can't see that being a problem. Plus it's half price at the moment!

If you're not really a dress wearer, this could be a great option for you. The deep red colour is flattering, even if you can't be bothered to fake tan, and the ruffle sleeve makes it a bit more interesting than just a normal jumpsuit. And it's floor length so you can feel like a super-swish goddess on the dance floor!

A little bit more on the pricey side, but a great investment piece, and absolutely perfect if you have a Gatsby themed party to go to. I love flapper dresses in general, and this one is no exception, and you can't go wrong with a LDB with a bit of a ruffle.

My dress from last NYE was from Boohoo and I was really impressed with how comfortable it was. This one is quite similar and is great for only £18 and can be dressed up or down as much as you'd like. This one looks as though it would be very flattering if you happen to be carrying a few extra Christmas pounds (like myself).

I hope you enjoyed this post, and please leave any links to dresses you think I might like!
